My Story

Who I am

My name is Gypsy Ginchereau and I just turned 60 on December 21, 2015.  I am a “Baby Boomer” and proud of it.  I have worked hard all of my life and never had much time to pursue my interests — but that has changed. I am officially “retired” but have discovered that I still need to work to keep my mind active.  I was always a workaholic and sadly the wear and tear on my body is proof of that. I have never been one to take good care of myself and it caught up with me.

In 2015 I was very sick.  My thyroid tanked and I had absolutely no energy.  It was difficult to even walk from the car into the grocery store, let alone do the shopping.  I am still recovering from that, but feeling so much better because I made some changes in my lifestyle, the way I eat, what I put in my body and what I use on and around my body.

In addition, I have had chronic bronchitis since I was 9 years old.  The last episode led to 3 rounds of steroids and 3 rounds of antibiotics with no relief in site.  Then my daughter, an RN, introduced me to Essential Oils.  After using a wonderfully blended oil, R.C. (by Young Living), that consists of three types of Eucalyptus, Black Spruce, Peppermint, Lavender, Myrtle, Marjoram, Cypress, and Pine,  I was feeling better within three days.  I have not had an episode of bronchitis since then…almost two years later.

This lead to my voracious research of essential oils and how they can support all the systems in your body.  Respiratory, Digestive, Circulatory, Endocrine, Nervous, etc.

It also led me to seek the proper education about essential oils and obtain my certification as an aromatherapist.  Why? Because I feel a great need to teach others about how to safely use essential oils,  both aromatically and topically, to improve their life.

Where I Am From

I was born in New Jersey but left almost as soon as I turned 18.  I lived in several states and moved often over the years, thus the nickname Gypsy, but settled in Florida 20 years ago.  I now live in an incredible community in sunny Central Florida and love my life here.  My community is technically considered a “retirement community”.  However, the majority of the people here are more active than those who are still working full time.  The Villages was once labeled “Florida’s Friendliest Home Town” but of late has become better known as “America’s Healthiest Home Town”.

At the heart of my community lie three old-fashioned town squares which feature free outdoor nightly entertainment, modern movie theaters, and a colorful assortment of shopping and dining opportunities. where ‘good friends gather for a great time!’

The community currently has 32 recreation centers, 76 swimming pools, 36 nine-hole (executive) golf courses, 12 championship level golf courses, and 2,296 resident lifestyle programs and clubs.  Needless to say, we are some very active “seniors”.  I personally am very active in one of the local clubs, The Villages Parrot Head Club, and do a lot of volunteering for charitable activities. I enjoy the fact that I am in a position to give back and do as much as I can to help others.

Most of the residents, (approx. population of community is 100,000.) say it’s like being a kid again: golf, recreation, shopping, dining, medical and professional services – everything you need to live life to the fullest – just a golf car ride away, in a beautifully designed and gated community.

With all that said, you can probably understand why I want to live a long healthy life.  I have developed a passion for taking care of myself and living a healthier lifestyle.  I have started doing research on all of the negative things that impact our health and am using alternative measures to counteract those influences.

Why I Started This Blog

Because I have so many wonderful friends and acquaintances here between the ages of 50 and 80 – the majority being baby boomers (born between 1946 to 1969) or of the “Silent Generations (born between 1936 and 1942) — I see how age and current lifestyle has affected most of them.  In addition, I have developed a passion for helping people learn that they have access to healthy alternatives.

There is a lot of misinformation out there a that can lead a person to try them and give up.  With the proper education on safety and blending essential oils, a person can truly come to love using them on a daily basis.

So, I am excited about starting Gypsy’s Gewells Blog so that I can reach more people about the importance of developing a healthier lifestyle. Please join me on my BLOG journey.  I promise to provide you with relevant material that can help you achieve a happier, healthier lifestyle!

My goal is the help you learn how to support your immune system, calm your nerves, ease your aches and pains and even to clean your home and rid your body of all those toxins in a safe manner.

I hope to help you:

To  learn how to rid yourself of all the toxins that accumulate in your bodies just by daily life.

  • To help you understand that “prescriptions” are not always the best way to help with certain issues.
  • To teach you that you can have a restful night’s sleep, free of over the counter medications.
  • To teach you that you do not have to reach for the medicine bottle every time they have aches and pains.
  • To teach you that there are many Gifts from Nature (What I call Gewells) that can support your immune systems.

So, I hope you will stop by often to see what alternatives YOU HAVE!
